Spotlight:
Marrhon who said, "Remus Lupin is the reason why I love the Harry Potter series so much. Not only was he skilled and intelligent but also brave and loving. Even after all those years of suffering prejudice, he still remained the same. He never thought of switching to the dark side. He was such a great man. He never wanted anyone to be in harm's way because of him, because of his illness. But for those people, the fact that he was something strange did not matter. I don't think anyone listed in this fanlisting sees Moony as a werewolf, but as a man of great honour and nobility. He is definitely the greatest person I ever knew. Never will I forget him in my life. I don't know how to end this tribute properly so I'll just dedicate a message to him: "I am hands down to you, Remus John Lupin. You have showed me my worth an I appreciate that so much. I once saw you as a lover but now, you are like my father. You've been there when my real dad wasn't. That's the best thing you ever did for me. Thank you. Your memory would remain not only in mine but in everyone's heart, soul and mind. I LOVE YOU, DAD.""

Remus is not liked by all but people who like him can't tolerate Harry when he says Remus is a coward. Its not just sympathy that I feel for his weakness but really Remus is worth being a fan of. He's the best in his group, all others were too trouble-creating (like me) and he's a bit different. Also, he was a prefect and a professor too. He's also the one who taught Harry to fight those wicked dementors so I like him. I think the worst day of my life is when I read about his resignation and 4 parts later about his death. We salute you Professor R.J. Lupin.

I liked Remus from the first moment I read of him. His character is great. I love that he's not perfect, and his "little problem" makes him just more nice and sympathic.

Remus John Lupin. I hadn't really figured out that I loved him until he died. Why did he have to die? Remus had easily been through the worst of all the mauraders. James and Lily were murdered, then he found out that that little rat Pettigrew was to blame, then he was there on the night Sirius died. I think a hidden reason that he didn't want to marry Tonks is that he didn't want to get attached again. And for all those who don't know, ANTONIN DOLOHOV KILLED REMUS LUPIN! At least for a while he got to enjoy fatherhood. Remus, you're smart, your funny, and the best DADA teacher that Hogwarts has ever seen, RIP.

Remus Lupin. My favorite professor. One of my favorite characters. A character that shows friendliness, compassion, and care. He is a wonderful person. But his life wasn't was good as his character. He was a werewolf. He was poor. He couldn't find any work. The best times of his life was when he was with his best friends. And he happens to be one of the best character in the series. When I saw he died with Tonks fighting for Harry, I cried. I couldn't forgive whoever killed him. But he died doing what he knew was right. He was quiet, but brave. Rest in peace, Remus Lupin.

From the first time he was mentioned, even before he woke up, I felt that I would like Remus Lupin. I knew that he was my favorite when he shot gum up Peeves nose. He is polite, cordial, and has a discreet sense of humor. He shows a polite attitude toward the world, which is not returned to him. He is a lovable character that you can really feel for, and understand. He does, eventually, father a child, and we see joy that was never shown to us by him. Had he lived, I have no doubt that he would have been a great father and role model for his son. In short, he is all of us, to and extreme, he is our volatile side, our outcast side, our self-conscious side. So, Remus Lupin, heres to you!

It wasn't until he appeared again in the fifth book when I realized how much I missed him. His bravery, kindness, and disability (which I think simply makes him stronger) was the missing link in Harry's life. Not many people had been so kind to Harry in his lifetime, and Remus Lupin seemed to care for Harry in a way Harry couldn't understand. I'm not a big crier. When Fred died (who was my second favorite character), I put the book down and almost didn't want to finish it. When Lupin died, I sobbed. When my little sister (who is currently on the fourth book) heard me cry over a character whom she had only begun to meet, she thought I was crazy. But who can blame me? I was so devestated that JKRowling killed the last Marauder, that she killed the closest thing Harry had to a father for the third time, that she killed a father of a month old baby, I almost screamed. But he won't be forgotten. After I finished the series for the second time, I took the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh books, and marked the spots where Lupin was. The result was four books with a lot of post-it notes sticking out of it. I then went through and read his entire recorded life--three times. If a side story/bibliography is going to be made of any of the characters, it should be Lupin. He was the most loved, cared for, and often forgotten-about characters in this series, but he touched all of our hearts deeply. I hope Teddy will be proud of his father and mother, who died to make his world a happier place. Lupin is my hero. Werewolf, friend, father, and husband. He deserved better. And for all those people (including me) who thought David Thewlis was badly casted, I think you'll find that http://www.nocturnalsoldier.org/Tealin/lupin.html shows a much better side of him, even if they only are drawings. Moony, Padfoot, and Prongs will live again.

Remus is exactly what a real man should look like. He always sacrificed himself to the need of his friends, and remained gentle and decent in spite of the unfair prejudice constantly cast on him. While JKR says he failed in the longing for others liking him, I would rather believe that this is nothing wrong or weak but a virtue indeed. The world did not treat him gracioously, but he repaid the world with the greatest generosity and faithfulness out of a long-standing loving heart. Love you forever, Remus!

Remus Lupin was one of those characters that it seemed to be impossible not to like. Right from the moment I met him in Prisoner of Azkaban, I knew that this was a character who would play a crucial role in the Harry Potter series. He was a character who was always on the receiving end of prejudice, which made him all the more loveable because despite all of his hardships, he still remained true to his own morals. He was always a character that I could relate to, and I feel that--in some way--everyone can relate to Remus. Who hasn't lost someone as Remus had to over and over again in the series. And, like Remus, we all have our own personal demons to deal with, and it some ways it was a comfort to see Remus contend with and rise above them. Remus, of course, also always represented everyone's ideal teacher--I'm sure I'm not the only one who has referred to their favorite teacher as "Lupin" on occasion. So, here's to Lupin: a great character.

Remus Lupin was and still is my favorite character from Harry Potter and I was so upset when I read that he and Nymphadora Tonks die. Remus is now my number one hero because there is that personality in him that even maybe one of the death eaters would have to love, he is never discouraging and keeps up his passion to protect others while struggling with his werewolf self. One thing that was just truly awful is that Remus finally starts to lighten up on himself and life but then dies. You are one awesome werewolf, Remus, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I just stumbled upon this tribute page, and though I will never truly let go of my favorite character, I think this tribute can help me not be as sad. I am approaching 17 years old, and Remus had been my favorite characrer since I was 8. Not only does he hold a very, very special place in my heart for a variety of reasons, but his character is someone who can be easily related with, and loved. Remus was also someone I wish was real so badly it hurt. I turned to the books, and fanficiton when I was sad, or happy. I wished I could actually talk to him, because his advice always seemed the best. He taught me only to fear fear itself, and to live valiantly despite prejeduices. Remus will always be my favorite character; He will always live on in my heart, because he is too important to me to let go of. If I could write a book on his impact in my life, I would, but for now I will leave this tribute, to get it out there, and to let go a little, though I can never truly. Maybe now, I won't have to cry so randomly some days when I just wish...so badly he had made it. Then, maybe even though Harry Potter is fiction..It would feel like he still lived on. That is okay, though, because I can cling to books 3-7 and remember that Remus was the most honest, caring, kind, and genuine character in the books...I love him, and after 9 years I believe it is safe to say, I always..always will.

Remus Lupin... he is the best. I feel so sorry for him but also very happy for him. He has to fight evil and himself. His character is something that I think about a lot because of how he is and how his nature is. I love that he is kind and always sees the good in people but also has a sad past - well, some parts of it. I'm really sad that he dies! I didn't want that to happen at all! He is, and always be, my favorite character in the HP series!

Ever since I started reading the Prisoner of Azkaban it seemed great, but when Remus came in it was the greatest book ever! Also I think Remus was so sweet and nice to leave Hogwarts, even though it was his only job, for the saftey of others.

He was the most lovable and admirable character JK Rowling created. Comprehensive, courageous, smart, loyal. Yet, afraid of his own dark side. Completely human, fought two hard battles at the same time: openly against Voldemort and innerly against the dark sickness that made so hard his life. I will always keep him in my heart as an example.

I really don't think that I can write that well, but I'll try: Remus is completely awesome. JK Rowling should be imprisoned for what she did to such a nice character. When I heard what happened in the seventh book from a friend I forgot to breath (stupid me) and when I read it for myself, I threw the book at my wall, creating a rather nice dent in it which I explain to everyone as being 'from my werewolf'. If I went to Hogwarts, I'd get along very well with Remus. I used to be shy and withdrawn too, although now I'm much more outspoken (understatement of the century... I'm a spaz!). Remus was one of the best characters in the whole book.

Everyone, at some point in their life, comes across a few special people that they just never forget. It may be a friend, or a family member, or a teacher, or a fictional character. Remus Lupin is one of those unforgettable people. Fictional as he may be, he's brought to life by the invaluable life lessons he taught to Harry-and us-in and out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He shows that you don't have to be what the world makes of you, and that overcoming hardships makes you stronger and more honorable. The Harry Potter series couldn't have been quite as amazing without him. With only a couple weeks until the release of the last movie, I wanted to say: Remus, thanks for making this already incredible franchise even more incredible. You've taught Harry and so many others what it truly means to live life to the fullest. We all know you're up there somewhere with your best friends, causing mayhem. Love you forever.

Remus Lupin has had such an impact on me this past year, though I'm not really sure why. I've always loved his character, always loved how he cares for everyone around him. (I.E. Tonks, Harry, Teddy)

Remus is by far my favourite character. I love him in the movies and books but I love him even more in fanfiction. This is because I can imagine what he looks like when he was younger. He is definitely my favourite marauder. The kind, sensitive, sweet one. The guy to keep the others in line. He was my idol/role model. I can't believe she killed him off. He was just the best character!

Since the Prisoner of Azkaban was filmed, Remus John Lupin had been one of my favourite characters of the Harry Potter series. However, he didn't become my absolute favourite until after I had read the sixth book- the Half-Blood Prince and realized what a great man he was. As a teacher, he was caring towards all his students and did not bear grudge to those who did not like him and taunted him for his shabby appearance. He was like a second parent to Harry, who at the time had not known that Sirius was innocent, gave him advice and always lent him a ear when he needed it. He also saw the best in people and did not hesitate to tell them. As a man and a wizard, he was incredibly forgiving and not angry for the wizarding world’s depise towards werewolves, even though many in his position would have turned on them and choose to attack and inflict wizards with lycantrophy. Remus, as a werewolf, knew how difficult it is to cope with being a werewolf and was filled with remorse upon realizing that Tonks was pregnant with his child. He showed the most human side I had ever seen in a fictional character in a book when I realized that he was faced with the worst dilemma a man could ever be put through. In addition to all this, Remus was also a very powerful wizard and skilled in dueling. By meeting Remus in the Harry Potter series, I have learnt a lot from him in how to become a good person. He chose to be the best that he could and strove to overcome his affliction by proving his own worth and showing his talents than by anger and revenge. He was also brave and though becoming a werewolf when he was young, he had the immense courage to live on. Something inside me died when I read of his passing at the final battle at Hogwarts. I could not help but cry. However, I know that his memory will live on in the hearts of all the readers of Harry Potter and I am very thankful having met him.

Remus Lupin is not even my favorite character the first time I read the book POA. But the more I read the books, the more I get into him. I mean, he's just so sweet of a person. Kind, loving, caring, yet so strong and also protective (even though he's hurt too). I don't know how he looks like, but I think he is not that handsome, BUT his personality makes Remus very attractive. After all, he's such a good father, friend, and man. Moony all the way! So sad he died with Tonks in the end of the war, both of them makes such a cute couple. =(

Remus was a very good friend, a great teacher, and a loving husband & father. I really think that J.K. made a mistake in killing Remus in the seventh book; he was right worthy to live and survive the war. If she wanted to kill parents in the series, I wouldn't know which other to do so but Remus. For a werewolf, he was very caring, gentle, and understanding.

I am a big fan of you Remus Lupin, and it was such a shame you had to die. Without you Harry might have never met Sirius, or forgiven his dad for his foolish acts. You were always there for Harry when he needed you and remain one of the most liked Harry Potter character ever. Dolohov is an idiot and if I ever meet him I will punish him most severely. But I am glad that you died a free and happy man. I'm sure that Teddy would be proud to have a dad like you and will understand that you made the world a better place. I think that it might have been for the better that you died because you would have been devastated by the loss of all whom you had tight relationships with: Tonks, Sirius, James, etc. And you would have withered away from lack of these people. So I am glad you died a young, happy man, rather than an old, sad man. You will remain in our hearts forever Remus Lupin.

Remus Lupin a great human and wizard in making. The story of Lupin tells us how to survive despite of prejudice and fight for good no matter what the situation is. The story is of a brave werewolf who sided with the good despite the fact that almost all his 'kind' switched towards the dark side. The story is of a brave man who loved and worked for the greater good. The story is of an outcast who is saddened by the the fact that he is considered as a 'disgust' but yet fights for good. Even because of his weak social position (when siding with evil might give a better position) he sides with the good to make a better world. He dies in his effort. But this commitment and unshakable love lives. His heroic deeds are sung as an encouragement to children. Remember the wizard who laid down his life even when he could have chosen not to fight. He has also grown to be a father figure for werewolves and it has made them proud too.

Lupin is the best DADA teacher. I don't know why J.K. would kill him like that. It made me sad and depressed. Some people ask why? Why cry over a book character? But they don't understand! Lupin was great! I can't tell how much goodness was inside him on here! Also people say he was a werewolf so he is bad... Read the book people, for the love of cheese, read and understand. I wrote poems about him at school but to embarrassed to share ;) Lupin, if you can here us in book heaven, you were so great, Snape MAY earn the brave award, and Harry MAY earn the hero award but to me, there are no awards good enough for you! You will always be with us, and Teddy is ok.
