The Marauders

This is where you can find basic information about Remus' childhood (and adulthood) best friends. Note: If you have not read the 3rd and 5th books in the Harry Potter series, this section contains spoilers.

Mr. Moony

Name: Remus John Lupin
Animagus form: None, is a werewolf
Features: Pale and peaky, light brown hair, hoarse voice
Character: Quiet type, intelligent, warm and friendly
Quote: "Loved it. Give five signs that identify the werewolf. Excellent question."

Mr. Padfoot

Name: Sirius Black
Animagus form: Large black dog
Features: Very good-looking, bit haughty, black hair, grey eyes
Character: Always in for a joke, very intelligent, ringleader
Quote: "Put that away, will you, before Wormtail wets himself with excitement."

Mr. Prongs

Name: James Potter
Animagus form: Stag
Features: Hazel eyes, black untidy hear, wears glasses
Character: A bit arrogant and cocky, always in for a joke, very intelligent, ringleader
Quote: "How thick are you Wormtail? You run around with a werewolf once a month!"

Mr. Wormtail

Name: Peter Pettigrew
Animagus form: Rat
Features: Small mousy-haired boy, rat-like face with small, watery eyes and pointed nose
Character: Cowardly, easily influenced, adores Sirius and James, not very intelligent
Quote: "I've got the snout shape, the pupils of the eyes and the tufted tail, but I couldn't think what else...."

The Marauder's Map

"Mr. Moony presents his compliments to Professor Snape and begs him to keep his abnormally large nose out of other people's business."
"Mr. Prongs agrees with Mr. Moony, and would like to add that Professor Snape is an ugly git."
"Mr. Padfoot would like to register his astonishment that an idiot like that ever became a professor."
"Mr. Wormtail bids Professor Snape good day, and advises him to wash his hair, the slimeball."

The Marauder's Map is a magical Map of Hogwarts, showing the entire Hogwarts grounds including secret passages out of Hogwarts and into Hogsmeade. The Map also shows the location of people in real time. It looks like a large but empty piece of old parchment until it is activated with a tap of a wand and the phrase: "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." Once the Map is not needed anymore, it can be cleared by another tap and the words: "Mischief Managed!" The Map was confiscated by Filch at some point but snatched form his filing cabinet by Fred and George, who put it to good use and later passed the Map on to Harry.
